Virat Kohli Enjoys Kirtan with Anushka Sharma in London
NEW DELHI: After clinching victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup, India’s cricket icon Virat Kohli is unwinding with his family in London. Sharing a peaceful moment, Virat and his wife, Anushka Sharma, recently attended a kirtan led by Krishna Das at Union Chapel. Known as the ‘Rock Star of Yoga,’ Das infuses classical Indian chants with contemporary music, creating a unique spiritual experience.
A video capturing Virat and Anushka’s presence at the kirtan has been making rounds on social media, delighting fans worldwide. Anushka also took to her Instagram stories to share a snapshot from the event and tagged Das, expressing their appreciation for the mesmerizing experience.
Hailing from America, Krishna Das, originally named Jeffrey Kagel, is a revered singer celebrated for his renditions of Hindu devotional music. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is currently on a break from cricket following his retirement from T20 Internationals after a stellar performance in the World Cup final against South Africa in Barbados.
As Virat enjoys his leisure time in London, a young Indian squad led by Shubman Gill is competing in a five-match T20I series in Zimbabwe. The tour serves as an opportunity for emerging talent to showcase their skills as senior players like Virat and Rohit Sharma take a well-deserved rest.
Looking ahead, the Indian team is scheduled to travel to Sri Lanka for a series of T20 Internationals and ODIs in July and August, with matches set to be held in Pallekele and Colombo as per the BCCI’s announcement. While the squad for the Sri Lanka tour is yet to be disclosed, reports suggest that veterans like Virat and Rohit will continue to be rested, allowing young talents to shine on the international stage.
