Welcome Dinesh Karthik as Batting Coach and Mentor at RCB!
The Royal Challengers Bangalore have made a strategic move by appointing former India wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik as their batting coach and mentor. This announcement has stirred up excitement among cricket fans and RCB supporters.
After his retirement from IPL-2024, where he had a successful run with RCB, scoring 326 runs in 15 matches at an impressive average of 36.22 and a strike rate of 187.35, Dinesh Karthik is now set to take on a new role with the team.
Expressing their enthusiasm, RCB shared on ‘X’ on Monday, “Welcome our keeper in every sense, Dinesh Karthik, back into RCB in an all-new avatar. DK will be the batting coach and mentor of RCB Men’s team! You can take the man out of cricket, but not cricket out of the man! Shower him with all the love, 12th Man Army!”
In a recent emotional statement upon his retirement, the 39-year-old Karthik expressed his gratitude to the fans and the overwhelming support he received. His contribution to the game and his presence both on and off the field have left a lasting impact on the cricketing community.
Having played for six IPL teams, including Delhi Daredevils, Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Lions, Kolkata Knight Riders, and RCB, Karthik has proven his versatility and skill in the sport. With 4816 runs in 256 matches at an average of nearly 26 and 22 half-centuries to his name, Karthik’s experience and expertise will undoubtedly benefit the RCB players under his mentorship.
As a wicketkeeper, Karthik ranks second behind Dhoni in overall dismissals and stumpings, showcasing his proficiency behind the stumps. His unique perspective and wealth of experience make him a valuable addition to the RCB coaching staff.
