The Final Goal: Rahul Dravid Encourages Virat Kohli to Achieve World Test Championship Victory
As Rahul Dravid bid farewell as India’s head coach, he left star batter Virat Kohli with a final challenge after the team’s triumphant victory in the T20 World Cup. In a video shared by the ICC on Instagram, Dravid urged Kohli to conquer the World Test Championship, adding to Kohli’s impressive list of limited-overs global trophies.
“All three white ticked off, one red to go. Tick it,” Dravid passionately told Kohli, acknowledging Kohli’s successes in the T20 World Cup, ODI World Cup, and Champions Trophy. Encouragingly, he repeated, “Go tick it.”
Dravid’s tenure as India’s coach concluded on a high note following his appointment in 2021. India secured their second T20 World Cup title by defeating South Africa by seven runs, echoing their first triumph in 2007 under Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
India’s cricket history boasts ODI World Cup victories in 1983 and 2011, as well as Champions Trophy titles in 2002 and 2013.
The celebratory video also featured Suryakumar Yadav, whose exceptional catch dismissed David Miller in the final. Yadav, in awe, expressed, “No feelings right now, I don’t know what to say.”
Pacer Arshdeep Singh proudly showcased polaroid photos taken before and after the final, symbolizing his unwavering belief in the team’s capabilities. “This is what belief can do,” he remarked.
With India rejoicing in this significant achievement, the spotlight now shifts to future aspirations inspired by the legacy of cricketing legends.
