Welcome to NMMSS 2024-25 Scholarship Program
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) is thrilled to announce the commencement of applications for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) for the academic year 2024-25. This prestigious scholarship program aims to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from economically weaker sections pursuing studies in Class 9 at government, government-aided, and local body schools in India.
NMMSS 2024-25: Eligibility Criteria
- Students must be studying in Class 8 and have secured at least 55% marks in the previous year’s exams (50% for SC/ST students).
- Belong to families with an annual income of up to Rs. 6 lakh (as per the latest income tax return or certificate from the competent authority).
- Only students enrolled in regular courses are eligible.
One-Time Registration (OTR) for New Applicants
The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) has introduced a simplified process called One-Time Registration (OTR). New applicants need to register on the NSP portal using their Aadhaar number or Aadhaar Enrolment ID (EID). This generates a unique 14-digit OTR number, which acts as a permanent reference for future scholarship applications on the NSP.
NMMSS 2024-25: Application Process
- Existing users can directly log in to the NSP portal using their login credentials.
- New users must register using the OTR process.
- After successful registration, students can find the NMMSS 2024-25 application form under the “Fresh Scholarship” section.
- Carefully fill out the application form, ensuring all details are accurate and complete.
- Upload scanned copies of necessary documents, including mark sheets, income certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), and Aadhaar card.
- Submit the application form electronically before the deadline.

Scholarship Benefits
