New Jersey is rapidly becoming the preferred location for Indian IT companies, top executives, and Indian-origin engineers working in the US. According to a report by ET, India is the second-largest foreign direct investor in New Jersey, with a significant portion of the state’s immigrant population being of Indian origin. Top CEOs such as Sandeep Kalra of Persistent Systems, Srini Pallia of Wipro, and Sudhir Singh of Coforge have chosen to reside in New Jersey.
Recent developments have seen Indian IT giants like HCLTech establishing their East Coast headquarters in the state, with three of the top six Indian IT companies expanding their presence in New Jersey over the past two years.
Industry expert Avinash Vasishtha highlighted the allure of New Jersey, citing its affordability compared to New York and its strategic location near the financial hub of the world. The state’s excellent infrastructure and close proximity to major clients make it an attractive choice for IT companies.
Peter Bendor-Samuel, CEO of Everest Group, further emphasized New Jersey’s appeal as a headquarters location due to its connectivity to New York, which boasts the highest number of Fortune 500 headquarters globally and is a key hub for finance and banking.
In recent years, companies like Wipro and Tata Consultancy Services have expanded their operations in New Jersey, attesting to the state’s growing importance as a hub for Indian IT firms.
With the presence of prominent CEOs and a favorable business environment, New Jersey continues to cement its position as a prime destination for Indian IT companies looking to establish a foothold in the US.
