New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary, Jay Shah, lauded India’s triumphant victory in the T20 World Cup, hailing the team for silencing their critics with an exceptional performance. Shah also revealed a generous prize of Rs 125 crore for the World Cup-winning team under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.
In a statement, Shah praised the team’s resilience and stated, “Under the exceptional leadership of Rohit Sharma, this team has shown remarkable resolve and resilience, becoming the first team in the history of the ICC T20 World Cup to win the tournament unbeaten.”
India secured their second T20 World Cup title with a thrilling seven-run victory over South Africa in the tense final held in Barbados. The last time India clinched the T20 World Cup was in 2007 under the captaincy of the legendary Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
