Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah recently showered praise on captain Rohit Sharma, calling him ‘absolutely phenomenal’. Bumrah highlighted Sharma’s proactive leadership style and his ability to empower his players during matches.
In the T20 World Cup 2024, Rohit Sharma has emerged as the third-highest run scorer, showcasing his impressive form in seven matches with 248 runs at a strike rate of 155.97.
Speaking in a video shared on the official Instagram account of ICC, Bumrah expressed his admiration for Rohit’s approach towards captaincy and his support towards the team’s confidence.
Nasser Hussain’s High Regard for Rohit Sharma
Former England captain Nasser Hussain also lauded Rohit Sharma for his batting skills and leadership qualities. Hussain described Sharma as an ‘iron fist in a velvet glove’, emphasizing his ability to blend authority with a caring demeanor.
“I have been a fan of Rohit for a very long time, as a batter, as a captain, and as a person. He seems to have a very calming influence. Whereas you had other captains, maybe like Virat, who wore their heart on their sleeves, and they are incredibly passionate. Rohit is like that iron fist in a velvet glove. You do not mess around with Rohit, but he is also a big brother that will put his arm around you and look after you,” Nasser Hussain quoted.
