NEW DELHI: The newly appointed head coach of Team India, Gautam Gambhir, reunited with Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner Shah Rukh Khan at the wedding ceremony of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Mumbai.

In a heartwarming video that went viral on social media, the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was captured giving a warm hug to the former KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir at the event.

This gesture highlighted the camaraderie and respect between the two eminent personalities, revealing their shared history with the KKR franchise.

During his time as a player, Gambhir led KKR to IPL titles in 2012 and 2014. He further showcased his coaching abilities as the mentor of the KKR team that clinched the IPL title in 2024.

After stepping away from the franchise to focus on national objectives, Gambhir took over from Rahul Dravid as India’s head coach following India’s triumph in the T20 World Cup in Barbados last month.

Gambhir’s coaching journey with Team India will kick off with the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, scheduled to commence on July 27.

Expressing his gratitude and excitement, Gambhir stated, “It is an absolute honor to serve my tricolor, my people, my country. I am honored and excited to take on the role of Head Coach for Team India.”

“I have always taken pride in representing India during my playing days, and it will be no different as I embark on this new role,” he added.
