Delhi High Court Seeks NTA’s Response on NEET Candidate’s Allegation
The Delhi High Court has recently requested the National Testing Agency (NTA) to respond to a petition filed by a NEET candidate regarding an ‘out of syllabus’ question in the entrance examination. The petitioner raised concerns about a physics question on ‘radioactivity’ that was not part of this year’s NEET-UG syllabus.
Additionally, the petitioner highlighted another error in which NTA declared an incorrect option as the correct answer. A vacation bench of Justice Dharmesh Sharma has granted the authorities – Centre, NTA, and National Medical Commission – two weeks to file their response.
The petitioner, despite being a successful candidate, expressed that their overall ranking was negatively impacted by NTA’s mistakes. They emphasized the importance of addressing irregularities in competitive exams, especially in exams that play a crucial role in training future doctors.
The next hearing on this matter is scheduled for July 16, providing an opportunity for further discussions and clarifications.
