Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has leveled serious allegations against the Narendra Modi government, claiming “corruption and criminal negligence” in various recent infrastructure projects. These include the collapse of the Delhi Airport Terminal 1 roof, leakage at Ayodhya Ram Mandir, and other instances.
In a scathing post on social media, Kharge wrote, “Corruption and criminal negligence are responsible for the collapse of shoddy infrastructure falling like a deck of cards, in the past 10 years of Modi Govt.”
The Congress leader highlighted several infrastructural failures under the Modi government, including the collapse of the Delhi Airport (T1) roof, Jabalpur airport roof collapse, poor conditions of Ayodhya’s new roads, Ram Mandir roof leakage, cracks in the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link road, collapse of 13 new bridges in Bihar, submerge of Pragati Maidan Tunnel, and the Morbi bridge collapse tragedy in Gujarat.
Corruption and criminal negligence is responsible for the collapse of shoddy infrastructure falling like a deck of cards, in the past 10 years of Modi Govt.

Kharge criticized PM Modi and BJP for their failed promises of creating “World-Class Infrastructure.” He mentioned that PM Modi referred to himself as “doosri mitti ka insaan” while inaugurating the Delhi Airport Terminal 1.
He condemned the government’s false show of progress, stating that it was merely for show before elections. Kharge expressed condolences to the victims of the Delhi airport tragedy, blaming a corrupt, inept, and selfish government for their suffering.
In response to Kharge’s accusations, Union Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu clarified that the building inaugurated by PM Modi at Delhi Airport was located elsewhere, not at Terminal 1.
The minister announced compensation of ₹20 lakh for the deceased and ₹3 lakh for the injured in the aftermath of the Delhi Airport Terminal 1 roof collapse.
Delhi Airport Terminal 1 roof collapse
Tragedy struck when a section of the Delhi airport’s Terminal-1 roof collapsed during heavy rains, claiming one life and injuring six others. Numerous vehicles, including taxis, were damaged in the incident. The injured have been hospitalized for treatment.
Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu assured that rescue operations were ongoing, with the affected passengers receiving assistance and medical attention.
Due to the incident, flight operations at the Delhi airport were disrupted. SpiceJet and IndiGo temporarily halted services until the situation was under control.
Heavy rains also forced the closure of the Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector – 25 Metro station and suspension of shuttle services from Delhi Aerocity Metro station to Terminal 1-IGI Airport by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
Ayodhya Ram Mandir roof leakage
The sacred Ayodhya Ram Mandir faced a leaky roof issue amid the monsoon season, causing concern. The chief priest expressed surprise at the incident, pointing out the lack of proper drainage in the newly constructed temple, leading to water leakage near the idol.
The chief priest’s remarks raise doubts about meeting the construction deadline for the Ram Temple and underscore the need for investigations into the water leakage issues near the revered Ram Lalla idol.
