In a shocking revelation, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has exposed a major scandal involving fake admissions of over 4,00,000 students in government schools across Haryana between 2014 and 2016. The investigation has led to the registration of a case against officials of the Primary Education Department in the state.
Adding to the crackdown on malpractices in the education sector, the CBI has also made significant progress in the NEET-UG paper leak case. Two key accused, Dr Ehsaan Ul Haq and Imtiaz Alam, who served as the principal and vice principal of the Oasis School in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh, have been arrested by the CBI.
It is noteworthy that Haq was appointed as the city coordinator by the National Testing Agency for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG 2024). The arrests mark a significant development in busting the paper leak racket that has plagued the competitive exams.
Prior to these arrests, the CBI had apprehended two individuals from Bihar’s Patna in connection with the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG exam. The accused, identified as Manish Prakash and Ashutosh, were found operating from Patna, facilitating the fraudulent activities.
The CBI official confirmed that Ashutosh arranged safe house premises for the students, while Manish transported the candidates in his car and prepared them for the exam at a school location. These arrests mark the beginning of the enforcement action against those involved in the NEET paper leak scandal.
Several petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court, seeking a fair investigation into the alleged paper leaks and malpractices in the NEET-UG 2024 exam. The apex court has sought responses from the concerned authorities, including the National Testing Agency, to address the inconsistencies and ensure a transparent evaluation process.
As the investigation unfolds, the government remains committed to upholding the integrity of competitive exams and ensuring that deserving candidates secure admissions into prestigious institutions. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
