The scheduled downtime for this upgrade is set for Saturday, 13th July 2024, starting at 3:00 AM and expected to conclude by 4:30 PM on the same day. HDFC Bank, in an email communication, has highlighted the efforts to minimize inconvenience by choosing a holiday for this upgrade and requests customers to plan their banking activities accordingly.

During the downtime periods, certain UPI services will not be accessible, such as sending and receiving money, merchant payments, balance enquiry, and setting or changing PINs. HDFC Bank advises customers to plan ahead by withdrawing funds and completing fund transfers before the downtime to minimize any inconvenience.
HDFC Bank Downtime: Available Services
Despite the downtime, HDFC Bank customers can continue to:
- Withdraw cash from any ATM using their HDFC Bank debit card (subject to restricted limits) or credit card
- Make purchases at stores using their debit card or credit card (with restricted limits)
- Shop online seamlessly with their debit card or credit card, including through PayZapp
- Use UPI services, barring short periods of unavailability during the downtime
It’s essential to note that the restricted limits for debit cards apply to combined transactions including ATM withdrawals, in-store purchases, online transactions, and contactless payments. Customers can also manage their cards, including hotlisting, PIN resets, and other related activities.
Merchants can receive card payments during this period, but account updates will reflect post the upgrade completion. UPI services will also be available with minor interruptions on the specified downtime periods.
