Former England spinner, Monty Panesar, has voiced his support for the Indian cricket team as they strive to claim their first ICC World Cup title by winning the T20 World Cup trophy. In a bold prediction, Panesar also foresees a remarkable turnaround for struggling Virat Kohli.

As the tournament progresses towards the final showdown between the undefeated teams of India and South Africa, Panesar has faith in the leadership of Rohit Sharma to lead India to victory. Additionally, he predicts that Kohli, despite his recent struggles, will shine by scoring a century against the strong South African side.

“India will win the T20 World Cup final, and Virat Kohli will score 100,” Panesar confidently stated in an interview with ANI.

Kohli’s form in the T20 World Cup has been a stark contrast to his exceptional performance in the IPL 2024 season with the Royal Challengers Bangalore. While he dominated the IPL with 741 runs, including a century and five half-centuries, Kohli has struggled in the international tournament, managing only 75 runs across seven matches.

Despite Kohli’s current slump, Rohit Sharma remains optimistic about his teammate’s abilities and believes that Kohli will deliver a stellar performance in the final against South Africa. “He’s looking good, the intent is there, and he’s probably saving it for the final. Absolutely backing Kohli for the final,” Rohit expressed.
