Activists Arrested After Vandalizing Private Jets at London Airport
Two climate activists from the group ‘Just Stop Oil’ were arrested in London after they cut through a fence and spray-painted private jets at a local airport. This incident occurred shortly after another act of vandalism at Stonehenge, where the prehistoric monument was covered in orange powder paint by two campaigners from the same group, including Indian-origin Rajan Naidu.
A video posted by Just Stop Oil shows the activists cutting through the fence at the airport and painting a jet orange. According to the post, “Jennifer and Cole cut the fence at Stansted airfield, where @taylorswift13’s jet is parked, demanding an emergency treaty to end fossil fuels by 2030.”
The Essex police reported the arrest of the two women on suspicion of criminal damage and interference with national infrastructure. Despite claims by Just Stop Oil that Taylor Swift’s jet was present at the airfield, the police clarified that the pop star’s aircraft was not at the airport, as she is scheduled to perform at Wembley Stadium in London over the weekend.
This bold act of protest highlights the activists’ dedication to raising awareness about the urgent need to address climate change and end our reliance on fossil fuels. While their methods may be controversial, their message is clear: the time for action is now.
